As part of VH1’s programming block for Cable in the Classroom, on Tuesday, February 6, at 4am (ET/PT), ‘VH1 Music Studio’ will broadcast Instruments for Change. This episode, hosted by Frasier's Kelsey Grammer, presents a look on how music education impacts the lives of children. This special features the music teacher who inspired and influenced the creation of Boys II Men as well as, Wynton Marsalis' and Nathalie Merchant's commitment to encouraging students to study music. In addition, the program highlights a Los Angeles public school band director and his students. Be sure to record this inspirational program and access the corresponding lesson plans, written in conjunction with MENC: The National Association for Music Education. The program and lessons provide educators and their students with innovative ideas, as they develop activities and events for March's Music In Our Schools Month!

‘VH1 Music Studio’ is crafted especially for classroom use and features a variety of special music programming supporting music education, showcasing popular music's history and demonstrating music's impact on current events and popular culture. Programming is pulled from such popular VH1 series as "Behind The Music," "Storytellers," "Road to Fame" and special programming devoted to musical artists, concerts, themed music programs and VH1 special events.

Educators may tape ‘VH1 Music Studio’ programs solely for educational purposes designated for VH1's Cable In The Classroom initiative. VH1 will allow taping of it's commercial free programming every first Tuesday of the month, at 4am, commercial-free so that educators may tape the program and play it back in their classrooms uninterrupted.
