Ride the Wave:

The word is out! Planet Waves cables are quickly becoming a favorite among professional techs and artists alike. Below is a sampling of our most recent feedback from the field.

"Planet Waves cables are phenomenal. They deliver a strong signal and fit easily into our pedalboards without the bulk of other cables. The compression springs are a must!" - Andre Torres (Linkin Park)

"Planet Waves cables are simply superior. The difference is in their tone. PW cables are clean and quiet and provide plenty of punch. Brilliant construction." - Lee Dixon (Eric Clapton)

"Planet Waves cables have a clean and crisp sound. I like them a lot." - Larry Cragg (Neil Young)

"There is nothing out there better than Planet Waves cables." - Reginald Veal (bassist)

"Planet Waves instrument cables are very sturdy and tonally superior to any cable that I have played in the past. " - Mark Tremonti (Creed)

Events:

The Winter NAMM show in Anaheim, CA was a great success for J. D'Addario & Company, Inc. New for us this year was the creation of two performance stages. One stage featured live performances by Evans artists and the other showcased D'Addario and Vandoren players. Headphones were set-up outside the enclosed Evans soundroom to enable convention goers to listen to Evans drumheads (featuring the new EMAD bass drum system) being played by Johnny Rabb, Zoro, Tony Royster Jr. and Thomas Pridgen. Our new EXP (Extended Play) acoustic strings were demoed by guitarists Steven King, Martin Simpson, and Jacques Stotzem. Vandoren artists Eric Marienthal and Norbert Stachel delighted crowds with their outstanding sax compositions. Thanks to all the artists listed above and to our friends at Drum Workshop, Shure, Mackie, DrumFrame, The Music People, and Beyer Dynamic for helping to make these performances possible. The NAMM show is always a great place to catch up with endorsees, managers, and friends of the company. A few of this year's visitors to the D'Addario booth included string endorsees Peter Frampton, Andy Summers, Kip Winger, Nils Lofgren, Mark Tremonti (Creed), Ronald Muldrow, Amir and Ryan from Orgy, singer-songwriter Meredith Brooks, Ben Harper, bassists Juan Nelson, Oteil Burbridge, Steve Bailey, Adam Nitti and Carlos D'L Puerto, Evans endorsees Peter Erskine, Dennis Chambers, Chad Wackerman, Dean Butterworth, Will Kennedy, Peter Michael Escovedo, Liberty Devito, Kalani, Drew Hester, Jeffery Suttles, Gerry Brown, Johnny Blas, and percussionist Jesus Diaz. Guitar tech Chainsaw, who is currently on the road with Billy Joel, stopped by to thank D'Addario for supplying strings for the tour. Cody, tech for the band Queens of The Stone Age came by to tell us how much the band is digging its Planet Waves cables, and Doug Reesh, tech for Matchbox Twenty, was amazed by the new Planet Waves AutoTrim tuning machines. For information on any of these new products, please visit our website (www.daddario.com). Bassist Mike Visceglia's website is being launched early this month. Tune in for in-depth playing tips, news and events from this in-demand studio bassist (www.mikevisceglia.com) D'Addario endorsees David Northrup and Travis Tritt performed at the recent Presidential Inauguration for George W. Bush. D'Addario endorsee David Gray's "White Ladder" has recently been certified Platinum. Congratulations David!
