My name is Chris Beals from Columbus, OH... I created this setup while working in music retail. I simply sat down at a setup in the store, drew a masking tape line around the setup to see just how small of a portable riser I could build to hold just myself (stool), my pedals, and the back end of my bass drum. The riser only measured 5' (front to back) and 3' wide, and I cut that in 1/2 and hinged the 2 pieces together. For the "rise": 5 gallon buckets. They fit nicely inside each other for transport, and the carpeted riser folds up like a portfolio (with handle for carrying on the underside. IT WORKS!!! The longer GIBRALTAR poles helped to lift the kit off of the stage to support the front. The "resonator woofer drum" hangs suspended from the front and created more lowend for the bass drum. IT WORKS ALSO !!!
