Tommy Igoe is one of those "does it all" drummers. He came to drums practically from infancy, because his father is legendary New York drummer / educator Sonny Igoe. But from there on Tommy has made his own way, following many different paths to success.
As a studio and touring drummer, Tommy has performed with artists as diverse as The New York Voices, Art Garfunkel, The Chieftans, Lauryn Hill, and Stanley Jordan. As a recording artist, he has an outstanding solo CD called New Ground to his credit. As an educator, he's been a big hit on the clinic trail, and he holds a teaching position at New Jersey's prestigious Rutgers University. And just to demonstrate his eclecticism a little further, Tommy created the drum book and holds the drumset chair for Broadway's mega-suggessful production of The Lion King.
